Spirit Halloween Finally Open 'Round Here
After Circuit City closed up shop, a big ol' banner appeared on its side reading "SPIRIT HALLOWEEN SUPERSTORE-COMING SOON". They hollowed out a Best Buy-size warehouse and stuffed it full of Halloween items. Last year we had a tiny shop in the mall, but it was horribly disappointing. But t...

Re: Anybody been to Haunted Acres in NH?
It is in Epping, New Hampshire (hoperfully you have a better idea of where that is than I do). Their website is www.hauntedacresnh.com and I think it looks great. It even has a Zombie Shoot-Out game to waste time with!

Re: Make any Halloween purchases yet?
I got so excited in the movie store yesterday because I spotted a Halloween magazine. Yet you can imagine my disappointment when I realized it was a Martha Stewart's Halloween magazine. No offense to any Marthians, but I think she's very much responsible for the recent softening of Halloween night. ...

The only means of public transportation will be hayrides, manned by corpse-like old men in tattered overalls. Cars officially deemed 'posessed' will also be allowed.

Much thanks, Adrian. It is also my dream to live in a house like that, and by golly, if there isn't one out there already waiting for me, then I'll just have to build it myself!

Re: Halloween II two thumbs down
Can't say I'm surprised, though I did find the first one to be better than the reputation it got. Oh well, I just hope that after this, we leave the Halloween franchise alone, and let Rob Zombie go back to what he was good at, movies like The Devil's Rejects.

Re: How do you extend the Halloween season?
I have managed to completely ignore the term "Halloween season" and have in fact created for myself an impregnable Halloween-bubble in which I live 365 days a year. I do this, you see, by listening to Monster Mash and Sounds from the Crypt (my favorite Hallow-themed sound effect CD) all ye...

Who else enjoys...
Listening to those "sound effect" albums (i.e. Graveyard Terror, Sounds from the Crypt, etc.) over and over in the middle of summer?
Guilty, man.

Re: Are you an Adams or a Munster?
I love the Addams', but it's true, The Munsters incorporated a lot more fun when it came to, ahem, monsterisms. Still, I'm and Addams.

Re: The Spirit of Halloween
I picked "other", though for the population as a whole, Jack o' lantern would probably be it. The Spirit of Halloween for me, however, often varies--the skeleton, Ray Bradbury, Mikey Myers, the witch, etc., etc., on and on...

Re: Rob Zombie's Halloween II
I like what Zombie did with Myers' back story, though I'm definitely the minority. The way I saw it was this: the cat's already out of the bag, concerning Myers. He's no longer a mystery, and even if Zombie had followed verbatim the script and camera angles of Carp's original, there still would be n...
