Re: Alien Earth
Strangely, I've never seen either of the Alien movies, though I know something about them. At some point I should investigate them, I guess. It sounds like this tv series is good.

Re: How long is too long?
That sounds like an awesome trip!
I'm planning to be in Charleston the second week of Oct, if all goes well. I'm meeting one of my CA cousins there, and I think my daughter will come, too. We're all hoping to do a ghost tour, among other things.

Re: The Halloween fast food thread
I wouldn't have noticed that, either, if you hadn't called my attention to it. It's a cute typo.
I did finally see a large haul of pumpkins at Kroger yesterday. I guess they're a large corporation, too. I hope yours arrive soon and aren't too costly.

That headless horseman decoration is fabulous! I'd like a skeletal horse, but they are pretty pricey.

I'd wondered about that. We usually see them before now. I wonder what happened? I was unaware that the agricultural states were having oroblems, other than California, I mean. And I thought most of that crop came from the Midwest.

Oh, I love The Man Who Invented Christmas! I have the book on which it was based, too.
What a neat suggestion, about the ghosts in the 19th century photo!

That Norman Rockwell photo reminds me of a pilgrimage we made years ago to the Boy Scout Museum in Bowling Green, KY. They were about to move to TX, and at that time my husband and both our sons were hyoer-involved. (Both boys made Eagle, but that's almost a footnote to what they ...

Re: The Halloween fast food thread
Those do look good. I was in Walmart yesterday, not looking for cookies. But I did FINALLY see a few pumpkins. Not many, and not the carving type, but a few highly decorative ones, as well as some pie pumpkins.
