Halloween themed Birthdays?

Never had one, but it's a fun idea. Can't wait for Halloween to come? If your birthday's on the way why not celebrate by bringing out the Halloween decorations? Make it a dark themed costume party!
I'm thinking of doing that 7 years from now when I turn 30!

I might do that if my Birthday fell in October, but it falls in July, and at my age, Birthdays tend to be more a personalized version of Thanksgiving. At least for me that's the way I celebrate it. I have Turkey with all the trimmings, but I do the bird on the barbecue. I do watch a couple of horror movies in the evening, however.

I have had Halloween birthdays my entire life! My birthday is the 29th, so it's always been entwined with Halloween.

When I was a kid, it was costume parties, pumpkin carving contents, and "some thing dead" kinda stuff. Most of the time, my birthday cake was actually a pumpkin pie.

In college, it was gore to the extreme, fun costume parties, and lots and lots of exotic shots.

Nowadays, it's a pumpkin pie with the family and a nice "fall harvest" dinner. Then we have a round of "Happy Birthday" and some cake as part of the annual Halloween party.

That sounds great, TK. It reminds me of a buddy of mine, who's not really a huge Halloween fanatic like I am, but he was born a couple of minutes after mignight on November 1st, which means that he missed being born on Halloween by something like 2 or 3 minutes.

Anyway to make a long story short, every year he would have a "friends" birthday party in October, and then he would have his "real" birthday party with his family on his real birthday which is Nov 1st. It was also sort of lucky for him as we both went to Catholic schools, and Nov 1st, being All Saints Day, was a day off from school.

The thing I loved about my birthday most when I was a kid is the fact that it was in the middle of Summer, and we were on Summer Vacation, so My Birthday was also a day off from school. But an October birthday, if you are a serois Halloween fan, is a very special treat in and of itself.

I really enjoy having a Halloween birthday. It always gave me a chance to have a party with my school friends. And when I was attending elementary, the school actually celebrated Halloween. All the kids would bring their costumes to school and we would have a halloween parade where each grade would walk around the school with their class, showing off their costumes to the kids in the other grades. It was a huge party and was always a lot of fun.

I feel really bad for my girls that schools don't recognize many of the holidays anymore. It has to be "winter break" instead of Christmas, no halloween, but a "fall dance". Kinda sucks.

Also, my girls all have summer birthdays, so they don't have to worry about being in school on their birthday, but it's also really hard to get school friends together over the summer. Everyone's summer schedules and vacations make summer birthdays hard to pull off.

My Birthday's in the summer, but you think that would stop me from having a Halloween themed party? Hahaha. I'll probably wait until I move out and have it with friends and stuff though, since my grandma thinks Halloween is evil.
I would just get a bunch of halloween party favors marked down the day after halloween and save them for my birthday. I'll have to get fresh candy though, and I doubt I'll find any halloween themed candy, but having the decorations and the costumes and playing some spooky movies aughta do the trick.
It's never a wrong time of the year for spooks and scares (except maybe Christmas time...wait...sod that! That's what the Nightmare before Christmas is for!)

I often had a "4th of July" themed Birthday when I was a kid. I would get a cake, my usual presents, and some left-over smoke bombs, sparklers or fire crackers to dork around with. I never actualy had a "Halloween Themed" Birthday per se, but there were a few times I watched a horror movie at night time.

I had a friend growing up that had Halloween as a birthday. We would have halloween themed birthdays, his 16th birthday was something else. I last saw him on his 21st birthday, wow.

My 16th Birthday was car themed, because that was the year I could start preparing for my driver's license.

I have a buddy who was born on November 1st, at about 2 mnutes after mighight. If he had been born just 2 minutes earlier, he would have had a Halloween birthday. He would have his friends party as a Halloween themed birthday party before Halloween, and then they would have his family party on his real birthday on Nov 1st, and Nov 1st was a day off from school to boot.

Smoke bombs and sparklers would sound like fun.
I remember my 16th party...we had a bon fire and got to watch a marshmallow blow up! And I remember a homemade card my parents gave me as a joke...
It went something along the lines of "We talked about what to get you for your 16th birthday. A brand new car said one of us..." and then you open the card and it says "A cheap card said the other"
Bon fires would be great for telling spooky stories...heck you could use your smoke bombs for your summer birthdays...and still have a spooky themed party...I mean...fire works would be great for Halloween if the ground wasn't so dry. Imagine an orange pumpkin light right up in the sky, or a big skull. Or have the smoke come up looking like a skull and cross bones, or a ghost!
Yeah there you go, have a fourth of July combined with Halloween. That would sound like fun to me.

I actualy did set off some fire crackers on Halloween and at our family Halloween bonfire. I also had a whole shopping bag full of these huge smoke bombs that billowed thick clouds of orange or black smoke.

I woudl throw a whole brick of fire crackers in the bon fire and the explosions would looklike a bunch of little ghosts. It was really neat, and even the little kids liked it.
