I'm having a murder mystery party and looking for a saloon girl outfit for a friend. She doesn't want to spend a lot of money (less than $25). Anyone know anywhere to get a cheap saloon girl/moulin rouge looking outfit? I've been scouring ebay and online costume places but we're still looking at $30-$50 at the least. She's not the type to have a corset and can can laying around either so we could make our own, haha.

Thanks for your help!

I wish I can help you, but I have never come across anything less than 25 for something like that before. 50 is already really low haha, the only advice I can offer is to make as much pieces as you can and then pick up the other bits and pieces online... or you can try to find it from friends or relatives thats used.

good luck on your find though,

It might be tough to do something for that cheap.... Some of the bits you can probably get from thrift stores, like the shoes or maybe a skirt or the corset. Maybe even try Craigslist...

For the accessories, you should be able to make things like a lace choker and gloves and a garter, and a feather for her hair. She can do her hair in ringlets, which should help with the overall look. Don't forget the fishnet stockings!! You might even be able to find a small toy gun at a dollar store, which she could keep tucked in her garter :) That would be hot!

if you are handy with a sewing machine it is doable. I make my own corsets a lot usually for about $10 and that would be the priciest part, a cheap blouse and skirt from goodwill and a decent pair of boots or shoes. and fancy stockings and you are set.
