Okay, I'm a big fan of making my own costumes. I'm all for the creativity and originality that can come from making versus buying. Anyway, I picked up this absolutely lovely venetian/mardi gras style mask. It covers half of my face. It's silver and embroidered with black and red accents and it has gorgeous peacock-style feathers to one side of it. I know it doesn't sound like much but it really is pretty. I want to wear it but have absolutely no idea what to pair with it.
So, with this mask and a hooded black velvet cloak in mind.... I need ideas. Any help will be greatly appreciated!! I'm just at an absolute loss and I love the mask too much not to use it.

Or wear the mask and get something fun like a corset, flowy skirt, possibly a cape, and beads and go as the Queen of Mardi Gras. You should be able to do a lot with that costume!
