Punisher costume

Hey all! This here's my first post, nice to be among you folks.
This year I decided to go as the Punisher from Marvel comics, but I've had some trouble finding all the parts to his costume. I found this pic for his vest, but I'm not sure how to go about modding it. I'm looking to make it look like a cross between the two recent Punisher films.
Any ideas?

What's the material? I haven't seen the new movies; does he still wear the skull from the comics? Maybe you could take off some of the straps and loops, and if the material will take it, do a skull out of those iron-on transfers they sell.

Yeah, he still has the skull on his chest, it's just a bit dimmer.
This vest is made out of 600D material (not the best for painting on, I'd assume. I'm guessing it's something like thick polyester), but it's the closest vest I could find to what I'm looking for. And I plan on modding it by taking those pouches off and maybe covering the chest area with a thicker, rougher material for the skull.

Too bad you can't get your hands on some of that "Dragon Skin" body armor.

Of course, you aren't planning your costume to be so elaborate that you're anticipating taking small arms fire, are you? I mean, I know everyone in Texas own guns (it's the law, ain't it?), but you'll probably be fine if your costume just looks bad-as$ but isn't actually bulletproof, right?

I dunno. I may decided to get wasted and accidentally wander into gang territory. They will stop me, ask me if I brought the goods, and when I tell them I have no idea what they're talking about, they may decide to open fire.

I think Macs costume is cute & perfect for his age, especially since he made it!!

So the vest came in the mail. Not quite what I expected but I'm modding it out to look somewhat like the one in the 2008 Punisher movie.
Mac, my costume is just a step below how awesome that kid's get-up is.
