I think just the opposite, Spooky. I don't like Depp because he always seems like the same person. He sticks out in a role like a sore thumb. It's that same mopey, dopey, puckered up sucking on a lemon face he uses in every role. Donny Brasco and Gilbert Grape. Should be two completely different people, but they come off as the exact same thing. Now Denzel, you look at his character in Glory, and it's completely different than his character in Philadelphia. And then he's completely different in Training Day. I forget I'm watching an actor, and just think of him as the character.

I thought Depp did a decent job in Chocolat. But I'm not a huge fan, he is pretty one-dimensional.
Denzel is great, and so is Nicholson.

odd, I see Denzel as all the same mannerisms and style for every character he plays...where as I see a different person in Depp in almost every performance, except when he's playing the same one in different movies like Jack Sparrow. Look at him as Sparrow, then as Edward Sissorhands, Mad Hatter, Ichabod Crane, etc.....very different

But I did watch Man on Fire (Danzel) again the other day, man I love that movie and he's great in it, but same as he was in Crimson Tide, Bone Collector, and so on and so on...

Is Jack Sparrow the pirate movie? People keep telling me I should see those movies, but I just hate giving Disney the satisfaction. Maybe if I could get an illegal Chinese bootleg copy....

Cutthroat Island is a much better pirate movie, in my grandiose opinion. Frank Langella plays a great bad guy in that one.

Interesting concept for a movie. I can't wait until it comes out.

I guess you like Allan Poe, right?

Depp's best role in my opinion was in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Nobody could've nailed Hunter S. Thompson like he did. You can't watch that movie sober though...

I'm looking forward to the Raven. I think Cusack can pull it off.

According to that sceneopysis, Edgar Allen Poe is hunting for a murderer who mimics his stories. If I remember correctly, "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe is a story about a guy who lost his love, and is tormented by a talking raven.

Don't get me wrong. I'll be seeing 'The Raven" when it comes out to theatres, but I would like to see a good, well produced, adaptation of the actual story (poem actualy) that Edgar Allen Poe wrote.

So, you going to see it when it comes out in theater, Mike? Well, I don't think I want to go see it, but I'd like to wait until it comes straight to DVD. This summer I want to see Fright Night 3-D remake. Also, on April 15th I want to see Scream 4. :)
