Horror Remakes: You hate them?
It would seem that every time I talk to people about horror remakes, I get the same response: "Peh. Remakes; hate 'em".
Lots of horror movies are being remade these days. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, The Hills Have Eyes, Hellraiser, The WolfMan, Friday The 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Blob, The Fly, Psycho, and so on.
Well, are there remakes out there that some people have actually enjoyed? Do you think there's any hope of them being considered good by die hard fans of the original flicks?
Or, are remakes just insta-turds-in-a-film-can?

It just comes down to how they're done. A good movie is a good movie whether it's a remake or not. Like I've said before, I'd rather see a good remake than a bad original. Plus I'm a horror movie nerd so I'm all for the new takes on these movies, even if some aren't that great.

I do not watch a lot of remakes but I know Dawn Of The Dead has been a success.

Yep... For instance, have you seen the classic NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD which was first made in 1968, right?
Then, there is NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (remake) in 1985, I think.... they did remake that again in 1990, imagine that???? I can't believe so!!
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3D is pretty similar, almost same storyline - but it has Sid Haig in!! I definitely love this one!!!

I thought it was only remade in 1991 and 2006! There is a 1985 remake?!?!? I have only seen the original.

Yep. The classic was in 1968. The original remake was in 1985. Again, the second remake in 1990. Then, it is 3D in 2006.

I wasted my whole life looking up zombie movies on IMDB.com and I never saw anything on a 1985 remake on there. I gotta look that up!

Re: Horror Remakes: You hate them?
If I've made mistaken, then never mind... You would have to check with the director's name George A. Romero on imdb.com
So, I heard they are going to do TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE LEGEND (Third part remake).

I think you're talking about "The Return Of The Living Dead" from 1985.

Perhaps, you're absolutely correct, OC!!! Yes, that's the one!!! Was it directed by George A. Romero? I hope so! I should've seen it again myself!!

Thats it! It is more of a sequel then a remake. It is not directed by Romero. I do not think it had anything to do with him.

You know we have RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, correct??
I've seen only part 1 and 2, but never seen from part 3 to the rest of them!!

Actually this one is pretty good, but it as a lot of comedy too.
It's one of those love it or hate it versions.
