Angels & Demons (review)

It was poor movie. The main flaw with "Angels & Demons" is that it ask us to take it seriously. It has no suspense. It unspools as a ridiculous theological scavenger hunt in which poor Tom Hanks rushes from church to church across Rome - shouting out "clues" as he runs along. But let's be fair. "Angels & Demons" is better than "The Da Vinci Code" movie in two counts. Tom Hanks has a better haircut - that '70s mane is gone... and there is a genuine surprise ending.

PG-13 with violence only. It's about 2 hours and 20 minutes.

I agree. Like "The Davinci Code," it was just more digs against the Catholic Church, spreads more lies and rediculour conspiracy theories about the Pope and the clergy, and was a sucky movie to boot. Porrly written, poorly acted, and hokey as hokey can be. As a Catolic I am again very insulted, and sorry I wated my money.

Good thing that I didn't go see that movie because it's not worth to waste money for nuthin'!

I will save it when it comes straight to Netflix or rent it at the video store.

I never read the book, Hipielivn, but that's almost allways the case. The movie is almost never as good or the same as the book it's based on. I had a simular experience with the film "Mommy Dearest." The book was a thousand times better then the movie, but the movie was not bad.

My problem with "Angels and Demons" was not only the fact that it was a really badly done film, but it was also highly insulting to Catholics, and it's a pack of lies. It was just as bad as "The Davinci Code" for spreading lies about something that I hold very sacred. I was very offended, and I would have demanded my money back, except that some of the people who work at that theatre were friends of mine.

i'm a former catholic seminarian and i don't find it the least bit insulting  it's fiction and in the end the church's cooler heads prevailed, winning out over the zealots on the left and the right :D
