Best horror films from other countries?

Ok, here's a little pol to gauge your opinions on which country currently turns out the best horror movies! Feel free to vote and also tell your opinions here.

I voted for USA - but I do like other horror foreigns (Italy, UK, Spain, France and a little Japan/Asian films).

'Nosferatu' unbeatable imagery.
The spoof-ish movie making fun of it is good as well 'Shadow of the Vampire'.
Malkovitch...good stuff.

I'm more use to American produced movies, but I think England comes in a very close 2nd place when it comes to horror icons, like Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. Some of the best Dracula and Frankenstein movies were done by Hammer Filmes. "The Fall of the House of Usher" and "The Pit and the Pendelum" were also done by Hammer, and IMHO were the very best renditions of those two films that I own.
Don't over look "Dan Curtis Productions," either. That's an American company, but they have done some FABULOUS horror films based on the classics of "Dracula," "A Picture of Dorian Grey," "Frankenstein" and "Doctor Jeckyl & Mr. Hyde." To boot, some of those films use the same music that was used in the tv show "Dark Shadows," which was also a Dan Curtis production. That's both the original series and the 1990 revival series.
For those of you who are also enjoy films of other Genres, "Dan Curtis Productions" s rendition of "The Winds of War" and "War and Rememberence" will really hit you in the gut.

I think Japan makes the scariest horror movies. Such as "Infection" Ju on/The Grudge series. Dark Water, and many others.

I hate to say it, Muertoman, but I thought "The Grudge" was one of the hokiest movies I ever saw. It moved slow, too and the cinematography was mediaocre.
