Jamara RIP

Well, I knew it was coming. I had to put my companion of 20 years to sleep Thursday. My cat Jamara. She was my precious. She'd been going slowly down hill for the last 6 months, but had been hanging in there. Then Thursday she started having convulsions. I was at work, so my husband took her to the vet and called me. I met him at the vets. There really wasn't much they could do. They weren't certain what was wrong with her. The blood tests showed her vital signs were all over the place. They said they could run more tests and keep her for observation, but that at her age and condition, she wasn't likely to bounce back or even pull through. So we did the humane thing and had her put to sleep. It was rough. It still is. But as much as I didn't want to do it, I know I couldn't make her suffer so that I wouldn't have to make a tough decision. My husband offered to stay with her so I didn't have to watch, but I'd been with her her entire life. I couldn't just walk out on her at the end. I couldn't watch the actual injection, but I held her the entire time.

See ya Jamara. When you get to pet heaven say hi to the many dogs and cats and goldfish I've lost over the years. Don't eat the goldfish!

Thank you, everyone. I miss her terribly. And don't worry, Nevermore, eating goldfish was beneath her. One thing I have to cop to is spoiling her.

Awww!! Thats awful, I am sooo sorry for your loss!! Salem was my kitty and she died last Feb., I still get all broken up when I think about her, so I know how you feel. She was soo beautiful, and you did do the right thing, I hate it when they suffer.
