Things not to do

If you decide to throw liquid nitrogen in your pool to get a nice fog for your Halloween party you may want to think twice. Someone did this in Mexico and some people got messed up when the evaporating nitrogen displaced the oxygen. One guy is in a coma.

So remember kiddies... liquid nitrogen bad, chocolate ice cream good.

Too much tequila and not enough common sense.

Reminds me of the dipstick who wanted to do is own haunted house. He comes out with a real chainsaw, screaming and yelling. Trips and falls down without letting go of chainsaw and sliced the front of his boot off. Missed chopping off his toes by just plain stupid and dumb luck.

Later said, he didn't think it through. NO!? REALLY!?

Did you see the comment by Gabrielle Cynique below that article? About her brother riding his BMX off the roof? Great story.

Dry ice is much better, but you have to be careful with that, too. Dry ice is frozen carbon monoxide, so you should be okay outside, but not indoors. Back in the 60s, a lot of people used dry ice on hot summer days in conjunction with an electric fan to cool down their homes, as even window air conditioners were just starting to come into their own, and there were a few people who died of carbon monoxide poisening.

Actually dry ice is carbon dioxide, though you're correct when you say that carbon monoxide is the stuff that kills people. It's invisible and odorless.

You're right. I meant to say carbondioxiide. Carbondioxide is what we exhale, and in a large enough concentration, it can kill you, too. That's what would kill you if you were burried alive. The oxigen would be used up, all changed into dioxide.
