The Stones Were in Town.

The Rolling Stones came to Atlanta the other night and 44,000 went to see them at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Georgia Tech. Mick was out there strutting his butt at age 72, and many of the fans were up there in age too. I was told by some folks that they had generational families at the concert. Parents, their parents and the grand kids. No joke. Three different generations all at the same concert! From what I was told at least none of the fans had a heart attack or stroke. How many rock concerts would you be concerned for the audience or performing artist dying of old age or some age related ailment?

The Who still touring? If so, I hope they no longer do 'My Generation'. Seems sort of silly now. Aerosmith was just in town playing a small club. This seems to be a thing now. Older bands playing intimate venues. The Stones did it a couple weeks ago.

The Stones are either coming to Nashville or have just been here. I didn't seriously think of going, but then, I guess it would be kinda neat to say you saw them in person once. I am not really a rock fan, though.

I did see Simon & Garfunkel once, when they did a reunion tour back in '82. I guess that is my one claim to having seen a famous rock group.

If I didn't hate the stones before, I do now. They let the university of Florida baseball team use their jet to fly to Omaha for the College World Series, and tonight Florida killed my Miami Hurricanes in game 1. I shall be avenged!

Oh my goodness, we are somewhat following the college world series as well, because Vanderbilt is in it. Sorry about your Hurricanes! Is it double elimination?

Yes, Miami beat Arkansas tonight and Arkansas has been eliminated. Miami loses one more game and they're done. We'll see how it goes. Right now it looks like Virginia has the hot hand. They just beat Florida, and UVA are unbeaten, so look out for the Cavs!

My Hurricanes are done. We got clobbered by Florida. I hate to lose, but to get beat by Florida or Florida State are doubly painful.

Sorry, Kolchak!

On another subject, the Stones were in Nashville last night. I didn't go, but I dreamed that I did. In my dream, hardly anyone was there. I don't know that that was the case in real life, however.
