Shame I'm not a millionaire. That would be a cool house to own.
Poltergeist scared me as a kid. But now I'd probably watch it and think the special effects were cheesy. A real shame the little girl died during the making of the third film. Things started to get really out there in the second one, and I couldn't help but wonder what happened to her parents in the 3rd.
I've never seen the remake.
I think another horror house that has been sold was the Amityville horror house. I wonder how many times that's changed hands? I wonder how many other famous "horror" houses have been on the market?
Any that happen to be located on an Elm Street by any chance?

The issue with famous houses like this and houses from other movies, is that you're always going to be bothered by fans showing up, so even though it's a nice place I wouldn't want to live there.

Here is a fun fact for you, did you know that the house from the first Halloween movie is only a few steps away from the house from the show Mama's Family?

No, I had no idea about that.

It wasn't just little Heather Rourke who died. The girl who played her older sister ( Dominique Dunne? I think) was murdered by her abusive boyfriend when she was 24.

I have the first Poltergeist on DVD. I still like it. It is scary but not too scary, and the family remains intact at the end. To me, that's a good scary movie.

I love the original Poltergeist movie, and watch it at least once a year.

The scariest character in the sequel, the evil preacher, was portrayed by an actor who was in late stage cancer so little had to be done to make him look deathly.

Oh, my. I don't think I've seen that one.

I need a new disc. There's one scene in my copy that jumps. But dvds are scarce as hen's teeth now.

You could try wiping off the shiny side of the disc from the center, radiating out toward the outer edge of the disc, and repeating until you have wiped the entire surface.

Use an old t shirt or other soft cloth...no paper towels!

The preacher still gives me chills just thinking about him.

I'm convinced that his knowledge of his own approaching demise colored his performance.

Wow, I had no idea that preacher had late stage cancer. That's crazy!
I actually feel bad for him now. I know he looks creepy and he was just an actor, but it makes me feel bad that his health was declining so much.

This makes me want to watch Poltergeist now and all the movies in the series.

That was a creepy clip, for sure. He did play that role very well.

He was an actor of note, having founded the Living Theater.

Interesting guy, and he died too young.

Compared to the age of the universe, everyone dies too young.

That's true. It's weird to think that turtles live so much longer than we do.

Not to mention some trees live to be thousands of years old. Life is truly short. It's unfair, but it is what it is.
Guess I'm going to have to watch the Poltergeist series again.

Alone and with the lights off.
