2012 presidential election

Post by iHaunt » Tue Jun 07, 2011 12:08 am

Anyone know? Who are you going to vote for?? Which is the best or the worst? I really do care less... I'd like to vote for Rudy Giuliani, the formerly New York City Mayor as the US President. :D

What about you?

I'm keeping my candidate secret... Firstly, because people aren't done announcing candidacy and I want to hear the platforms before making a decision. Secondly... because it's a "secret ballot". *wink *

I really don't know who to vote for any more. It seems that no matter who gets elected, working people don't have a prayer. Of course, I won't be announcing who I vote for on the forum as discussions of politica, like discussions of religion, often degenerate into flame wars.

But to be brutaly honest, I was not happy with George Budya, and I am equaly unhappy with the Obama Administration. As the old saying goes, "you cant win for losing."

How about the ghost of F D R? Abraham Lincoln is also a good choice. I bet George Washington is rolling over in his grave to see that's happening now.

I fret that neither party has the will to do what needs to be done about the national debt. I believe that, in order to straighten out the financial mess we are in, we are going to have to make decisions which will be politically costly in the short run to whoever makes them. Consequently, no one will take the hit for the sake of the nation. I don't see how our economy can be sustainable for very long with the kind of debt we are accumulating. "The best lack all conviction," to borrow a phrase from Yeats.

I used to wonder how it was possible that the Roman Republic went down to a dictatorship. I think now I see how it happens.

also you dont have any person/organization that is willing to take the hit as well, everyone is pointing at everyone else saying "dont cut my entitlements, cut theirs".....

look at the unions in WI, they arent willing to take any cuts, teachers dont want to loose their benefits, firemen, police, medicare, and on and on....no one is willing to take the cuts and so cutting costs are near impossible.

You're right, very few are willing to make the decision to cut what needs to be cut and those that actually do try are persicuted in the media for "pushing granny off the cliff".......

Seems to me that before you ask people who are struggling already to sacrifice even more, you should first ask those who are making half a million or more per year. It's easy to say that everyone is gonna have to sacrifice, but sacrifice ought to begin with those who have yet to even feel the recession, and with those who actually profited during it.

Who will I vote for? I wish Congressmen John Boehner and Anthony Weiner would run as a split ticket. My 12 year old sense of humor wants to see the yard signs.
