Chang, those stories are rampant, and are all over the place. In order to do that you would have to plant a virus in every computer on the planet. Can't be done.

Actually, Anonymous and LulzSec have been pretty quiet this year. One of the founders of LulzSec got caught and ended up helping the FBI take down the rest of the members of his group. Classy dude. Not!

Folks, there is NO WAY, other then the total destruction of our entire communications infrastructure, that the entire Internet can be destroyed. You can pick up soma nasty viruses if you're not careful, but the Internet is just too vast and expansive. There are litteraly countless hundreds of million computers of every make, model and power out there. It's going to take more then a few two bie terrorists to bring it down. An act of God, such as a major solar flair, or a global catastrophe, like a meteor impact comparable to the one that took out the dinasaurs, ot a full scale globas thermo nuclear war, but not a few punks like LulZek.

I agree it's unlikely anything short of a global catastrophe could destroy the Internet. Doesn't mean people aren't trying to figure out how it can be done though...

Have you ever seen Day the Earth Stood Still? That movie explained how advanced technology can destroy the internet and anything else.

I like the original more. At the time regular people didn't have an understanding of EMPs and space travel, stuff like that. Made the movie much spookier.

I'm curious to see how the new show 'Revolution' explains the electricity going away. I think they've gone beyond the EMP scenario. My theory of choice right now is that the scientists created nano-bots that eat electrons, and somehow use them to replicate. That's why they can't get electricity working again. I'm guessing those pendants repel the nano-bots so that's why electrical devices work when they are close by. My theory. You heard it here first.

The flashback scene with the mom was harsh but, hey... you gotta do what you have to do to survive, right? I'm glad Charlie learned that lesson before she got someone killed. I just wish the guy from Google would figure out how to turn the pendant on so the English chick can see her pictures, and listen to some music.

Let me guess, are you all gaga over that Nate guy like my roommate is? I think he looks a lot like the guy Jake from Twilight.

Yes the old one was superior to be sure. They did not have the internet in the 1950s but it still shut down everything else mechanical.
