Happy 4th.

Post by Kolchak » Thu Jul 04, 2013 10:29 pm

I hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July. We had a nice fireworks show despite a little rain, and the people by and large behaved. Hoping all went as well in your neck of the woods too.

Went to my buddy's house up on a large hill, ate a lot of burgers, dogs, and beans, drank a few summer shandys, watched three separate fireworks displays at once.

So far no reports of problems at the San Diego Big Bay fireworks display, unlike last year.

It poured buckets of rain around here all day long, but let up long enough for the civic fireworks display to happen (in a sprinkling rain). The kids and I attended it.

Earlier we had grilled chicken in the carport.

I'm glad you were amused by our misfortune Andy. I just found this rooftop shot from last night's display downtown. Now I wish I would have gone there instead.

The pic is way too big to post here.

Edit: If you have to get your chuckles here's a time lapse of last night's fireworks. Almost as fast as last year's.

I bought an app named Time Lapse.
Where can I upload the videos for little or no cost?
I'm cheap like that.

Youtube? Vimeo? If you already have a Google account then you also have one for Youtube.

We enjoy driving to Fort Huachuca to watch the fireworks there in Sierra Vista... mostly because the Army band plays the "1812 Overture" and uses REAL CANNONS for the cannon part. Bwahahaha!

It rained after the show... but it was nice! We took my 5 mo/old son... and he loved it! He was cooing and laughing.

Sharing all those "firsts" with little ones is just the best! Enjoy!
