Time To Start Decorating
I usually start around October 1, but tomorrow I'm putting up the rope webs on the front porch and hang some skeletons in the trees. After that, some tombstones for the graveyard and skull stanchions around the edges of the patio. The best stuff is the most vulnerable, so I wait until just before Halloween to protect them from weather and vandalism.

Re: Time To Start Decorating
I ended up putting some scarecrows and my fall flowers today. It has always been a tradiiton to do it on the 1st of October - but this year - it is really making me a little anxious to wait that long.........LOL I will be out there as soon as I get off of work on the first to start putting out my decorations.

Re: Time To Start Decorating
i decorated a TON today!! but its just the beginning i'll post a good video of it in a couple of weeks!!
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Re: Time To Start Decorating
I started on October 5th, so far I've decorated half of my bedroom ceiling with spiders web. Sadly I run out tonight and will be getting more of it tomorrow
So therefore tonight I have been getting all the bags out of the cupboard and started putting some banners round my room
At the moment it's all over the floor but by next week I'm hoping to have most of the webbing finished then I can start on the hallway and garden
This is such a happy time of year!!!
And the evenings are so much darker and cooler now...................
I'm lovin it!

Re: Time To Start Decorating
I started decorating the day after Labor Day. Just some wreaths, mantle decorations, a few lights, some pumpkins, & window stickers to welcome in the season. I like to get a good head start, especially with being busy with so much. I also like to change my tablecloths and bedding.

Re: Time To Start Decorating
I've hung my bat lights in my tree, and I've got my ghost hanging on my door. But I have a lot more to do in the next few days. I need to put up my ghost lights and my ghost dance, a second scarecrow, and hang my wizard. And of course there will be the pumpkins. I haven't bought them yet because they tend to rot on our porch (we have a southern front). But I will buy at least four and carve three for Halloween, reserving one for Thanksgiving.
Oh, I almost forgot. We have a football-shaped jack-o-lantern light for our window. That's because my second son played football for a couple of years.
