I apologize if this is a duplicate. Seemed to have some issues posting the first time.

We wanted to share our Nightmare Before Christmas Decorations! We've had a life-sized Jack Skellington in our front yard for over 10 years now on Halloween. This year however we decided to put our craft skills to the test and redo the out of date head and hands. The original was just Plaster tape over a balloon and was a very rough likeness.

The new head is crafted from a solid Styrofoam pumpkin. The detailing was cut out and the features were molded in Crayola Model Magic. The finished mold was overlaid with Plaster Tape and Plaster for support and smoothing. The hands are made primarily of Model Magic with some plaster on the palms for support.

I see that you made his limbs out of pvc pipe. What did you make the torso out of?

The torso is just sewn fabric filled with padding. Easy enough to attach to the cross section of the shoulders and the hips.
