Summer-Halloween Preperations
I was just curious, now that summer has arrived, what fellow members do in the summer to prepare for the halloween/fall season that is drawing closer.
I for one, begin looking through all my decorations and making mental notes as to what new ideas and themes i am going to create for the up coming halloween. I have already begun this process as of now!

I will work on gravestones and try to get a job so I can have money to buy more Halloween decorations.

Re: Summer-Halloween Preperations
The main thing I think about this early in the year is my costume. I'm trying to figure out if I want to go as a traditional character seeing as how I have a good collection of masks, or try to do something unique.
I'm already searching through costume and prop websites. Exciting times![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Summer-Halloween Preperations
I start hunting for new decorations, online and old stuff at yard sales, etc.
Some great stuff can be had for little $ at yard sales!

I like watching the history channel/travel channel's specials on scary stuff like "Creepiest Destinations" or "History of Vampires". It always gives me an October feeling.

I usually watch Halloween movies/shows, start working on my costume, and go to stores and try to find Halloween items to buy.
Double, double, toil and trouble....

I watched a couple of episodes of Ghost Hunters this weekend. Some of the hosts are a little corny, but it's a good show otherwise.Snoopy/Red Baron wrote:I like watching the history channel/travel channel's specials on scary stuff like "Creepiest Destinations" or "History of Vampires". Re: Summer-Halloween Preperations
Well for me this summer is about buting a dozen new blow molds on ebay and elsewhere online.
Two years ago i got a wood coffin from walmart. it was wood the lid was great. But the sides were very thin and cheep. It lasted one year. Last year my dad wanted to build a coffin. He wanted to put a skeleton in it. Upto that point he was doing good. Then he went a little to far out there. He planed to put balls of real hambuger into the coffin. Then he wanted to put real maggots in it and finelly cover it witha screen door mesh. I vetoed the idea. But last November i googled plastic maggots. I fund some glow in the dark ones. So I ordered 6 packs. My dad is now almost finished with coffin.
Next we will build a fence out of pvc pipe and chains. I got a bunch of very small falsh lights to stick into the pvc pipe. When walmart gets its hallo9ween stuff in ill buy a bunch of the skull trick or treat bucks. then place them on top of the pvc pipe as lamp covers. None of the fences i have seen in the stores work well in my yard do to the large amount of tree roots in the ground.
I have several more ideas for things as well to build. We will see what we have have the time and money to do.

Re: Summer-Halloween Preperations
I usually get bit by the Halloween bug at the end of June and wait with bated breath for the decorations to start appearing at Michael's by mid-July. LOL Though I got bit hard by the Halloween bug today and I went out and bought some shelves and set up a sweet permanent Halloween display in my bedroom today. I now have two perm Halloween displays, one in my kitchen on top of my cabinets, and this one in my room. I'll put up pictures when I get around to taking them. But I actually bought my first official Halloween decoration for the year today too. Michael's had their fall stuff out so I got a black owl to go in my perm display in the kithcen. Wooohoo!!! Can't wait for Halloween!!

Oh <deleted>, Michael's is getting in their Halloween, I forgot... how am I going to afford any of this? I really like some of their stuff. Well, in my town it seems to be the only decent Halloween loot. I gotta go figure out how broke I can get this year now....Hello, my name is Bea Evil, and I'm a shopaholic (Halloweenaholic?) ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
