Almost every night I blast the scary sound effects in my room and turn off the light while exploring the vast Internet

Re: Halloween Music
Hey everyone..new to the board..long time looker but first time poster haha.
I just HAD to make an account though JUST for this topic! I can't beleive nobody has mentioned AFI (A Fire Inside) for their oh so Halloween vibe in their music (at least their older stuff).
Some albums/songs that totally will remind you of Halloween by AFI:
The entire All Hallow's EP- "Totalimmortal, Fall Children, The Body Who Destroyed the World,
and, of course, Halloween (Misfits cover)"
Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes- "Third Season"
Black Sails in the Sunset- basically whole album
The Art of Drowning- whole album...some stand out like "Morningstar", "The Despair Factor"
(listen to the amazing lyrics), "Wester", "Ever and a Day", and "A
Story at Three"
Sing the Sorrow- I feel this album is themed with Autumn..just look at the cover art.."The
Leaving Song" and "Death of Seasons" are two of my favorites. But I also
love "Now the World" (a B side), "Bleed Black" and "Miseria Cantare (The
Beginning)"
Decemberunderground- Not as much Halloween/autumn influence, but "The Interview"
"Summer Shudder" give me a chilly autumn vibe for some reason

Here's some tracks by The Alice Rose from Austin, Texas. This is their Halloween 2008 single, "Bloody Mary"/"Witch House", both cool dark Halloween rock.

One band that always ends up on the yearly halloween compilation is Oingo Boingo....I swear I would take out a second mortgage to see them do a reunion tour.
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted- nevermore!
Shall be lifted- nevermore!

Never got to see them on stage, but they were a huge part of the soundtrack of my youth.

You have AWESOME taste in music.Pumpkin King wrote:If you're still interested in Halloween themed music, some artists to check out are Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, Pain, Children of Bodom, Iron Maiden, Kalmah, Lizzy Borden, Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir. Here are some samples..
Different songs by The Misfits also puts me in a Halloween mood. Personal favorites are "Dig Up Her Bones," "Scream," "Descending Angel," and "Hunting Humans." They're classified as horror-punk, so a lot of their songs have Halloween themes to them. Oh, and of course their cover of "The Monster Mash."

Re: Halloween Music
I love playing those "Scary Sound Effects" CDs that people stream out their open windows every Halloween night.
And, by my count, I've listened to Boris Pickett's "Monster Mash" about ten times today already.

Re: Halloween Music
There are a lot of classical music selections that go very well with Halloween. Tocata and Fuge by Bach is one of the archytipical creepy organ pieces. El Vira used that music for her opening theme on her tv show and on one of her DVDs. "The Funeral March of the Marionette" was the music chosen by Alfred Hitchcock for his tv show "Alfred Hitchcock Presents." One of the main themes of Thyvchovsky's "Swan Lake" balet suit was used as the opening theme for the original 1930s version of "Dracula" starring Bela Lugosi. I also think that same music was used for "The Mummy" and a couple of other monster classics. The tv show "Dark Shadows" has some of the creepiest music ever written, which includes several genres of music. The ones I am thinking of is "Ode to Angelique," "Shadows of the Night a.k.a. "Quenten's Theme" and "Josete's Music Box."
I have all the "Dark Shadows" CDs which has no shortage of great scary sounding music.
