2 More Months Before Fall Decorations Go Up!

Michael's is starting to put out fall stuff, I've been to the one by work twice in the passed week.

Morticia, the answer to your question is both yes and no. Yes, I can't wait for Halloween, October, nor can I wait for "Little Halloween" next August, but I also can't wait to do my 4th of July road trip on Friday to pick up some "party favors," and I also can't wait to enjoy those "party favors" on Sunday. I'm going to take the new Merc up to my brothers lake for some great 4th of July fun. I am also going to be celebrated my 50th on the 24th of July, and I am having my family over at my place for a huge barbecue, so I am chomping at the bit for that. I also have 2 'Hauted Road Trips" in the works for Summer, and a motorcycle ride up to Michigan. And, of course, I do plan to be doing some motorcycling while I'm at it.

But you can bet, come the last few days of September, the Halloween decorations willl go up, and I will be making at least 2 "Haunted Road Trips" next October, either on the bike or in the new Merc, depending on the weather.

Wow, September 1st?!? That's a bit early, even for me. If I put up my graveyard on September 1st, by Halloween the grass would be two feet tall!

I put out the inside decorations in early September too, except Halloween. That comes out October 1st.

One year we went to another county and bought some. Lit some off in the backyard and the police came walking in. True story. Sucks here.

Here here. I usualy don't get into the Christmas spirit until I finished my holiday cleaning in November. I do enjoy Summer and the 4th of July, and for me, Halloween represents two things. It represents the beginning of a long period of holiday fun, and it represents a transition from all the Spring, Summer and Fall fun, such as motorcycling, fireworks and the like.

Morticia, I know what you meant, and I can see why. Fall is the favorite season of a lot of people, but my favorite season is Summer. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and October is my favorite month, but Summer is my favorite season. I just can't get enough of my motorcycle and the beach.

As for fireworks. a lot of then are illegale here in Illinois, too, but the local cops don't seem to give a hoot. The state troopers might be a little harder to get along with if one is blatent about lighting off certain fireworks like bottle rockets or firecrackers, but for the mst part, a lot of fireworks are in fact leagal. Smoke bombs, and a lot of the display items are leagal.

And, there's my Birthday on the 24th. I usualy don't make a big deal of it. When you get to be my age, the main thing about Birthdays is that I made it another year, BUT this year, I am going to be 50. That's IMHO a special 'land mark' birthday that should be celebrated with a little more gusto then what I usualy do, and I am very much looking forward to having my relatives over for a huge Summer barbecue, like the ones we use to have back when I was a kid in the old neighborhood.
