Getting ready for the long weekend I used the last of the roast for beef stew and just finished chili with bison and a big pan of corn bread.

Ooohh!!! I'm going to Andy house, it looks yummy!! Too bad I sick as a dog, I guess I'll have to get a doggy bag to go. :wink: Woof Woof, thats kinda what I sound like right now. :(

Chanterelle mushrooms are starting to be harvested out in the woods so I'm making baked chicken with a chanterelle cream sauce.

They grow wild up here :)

I love fondue and haven't had it in years. There was a real good Fondue restaurant we use to eat at in Tampa. Good stuff.
I need to ask Murph about a place near her in Franklin, Tennessee, called 55 South. It was on Diners, Drive-Inns and Dives, and it had some serious good looking food!

Yes I do watch the Food Network!!! :lol: :wink:

Not so sure I trust wild mushrooms to be honest. Of course my philosophy is when in doubt, don't try it out. Though granted, I'm not all that crazy about mushrooms anyway unless they come out of a can.

I don't mind identifying berries and stuff that are wild though. I'd like to try ramps sometime. Heard they're good with potatoes on the side.

I would never had known what they were if it wasn't for the expert identification.

And on that note, tonight I made mushroom soup and will be making a red wine sauce with, you guessed it, mushrooms, for grilled steaks.

lol Well Andy I think I'll still pass on that one.

Though I do like grilled steaks. Though I think Buffalo burgers are the best.

I ended up preparing one of my venison roasts in the crock pot and then turned it into barbecue sandwiches. It was great! Very tender, and the meat tasted just like roast beef. Must be how I prepared it. :)
I would love to have that again for supper.
One thing I really like doing is breakfast concoctions using eggs, and a choice of meat whether it's sausage, ham or bacon, and add some eggs and potatoes and cheese. Good stuff! :)

I had oatmeal and toast this morning, I normally don't eat breakfast but I'm trying something new, I am hoping it helps me loss weight, wish me luck!! :lol: :wink:
