I love the Halloween season, including all the tasty treats and snacks that are available, but it makes me worry slightly that my kids just aren't eating healthily enough while it's all going on. My five year old boy has particular trouble eating healthy all year round so I was researcing ways to get him to have more fruit and veg. Star charts were mentioned by quite a few mums so I decided to go down that route. I stumbled across this Halloween themed reward chart that I thought some mums and dads on here migght appreciate
. It's free as well.

My kids are way beyond this type of monitoring (youngest is 17), but I can see that this might be a good way to help encourage the little ones to think about what they eat.
You could also emphasize the colors of the fruits/veges. Different ones generally have different nutrients, so you could have them color the stars the same color as the fruit or vege they ate. After a week, they could at least see if they tended to eat more of one color than another.

Not having any offspring that I was made aware of I'm unfamiliar with 'star charts'.
Are we raising children guided by astrology now ?
