The (Un)Official Halloween.com Video Game - Brainstorming

Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening or Otherwise.

I am an aspiring game developer using a program known as Flash. Over the Summer, I have been thinking of a game to develop for this site. I have come up with the RPG format for this game. If anyone has ideas for the game or is willing to help me develop it, feel free to post below.

I am wanting to get a public "alpha" version of the game (Just a couple of areas to show what we are doing, not a full game by any means) out by Halloween, October 31st. I hope this can be something that everyone will pitch in on, you don't even have to know Flash in order to put your mark on this project. Additionally, I am wanting to tie this in with the ideas in the "If Halloween.com Could Create Our Own Town..." thread, by having the game take place within this town. Ideas? Post below.

Thank you,

John-117

that is a fun thread if do say so myself lol what if the game bounces around the towns functions. one major place that could take place in the game is the library where we had the idea of that if you want to travel around the world or through times it would have to be through the books.. that would be fun aspect in a game
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Good idea. I was thinking that the "Halloween.com" town would be the main hub of the game; Using it to purchase and upgrade weapons, armor and completing side-quests that grant access to better items and more parts of the main quest.

Question is, what should the plot of the main quest be?

maybe something about a curse that has been developing over time and something finally ignited the curse into full flame.. and one quest could be going to all these places and time to "prevent" events from strengthening the development of the curse.. just an idea

Sounds cool. Anybody else: Input?

Music

What should be our music choices? Should we have music from bands in it or should we have our own?

Personally, this would make a great battle theme

Halloween.com members are sucked into this video game developed by John-117, the MASTER CHIEF from the popular videogame franchise Halo, and now they must venture through many levels designed and made by John-117 to escape back into the real world and save the Halloween.com forums from losing it's Halloween spirit, which is being kept in a big, pink, fluffy jar.

Alright. :D In all seriousness, great ideas so far. I'm pushing for more of a comedic game than a straight-up take-itself-seriously RPG. Have fun with it, come up with something crazy that I can work with. :P

what about having the character (us) take on a variety of forms to complete certain halloween based missions? like a ghost to get through certain areas... a wolf, a vampire, ect you know what i mean?

I could work that into the battle engine. Maybe through different armors or spells. I play a game called Dragon Fable that utilizes an armor system that allows you to change classes on a whim and level up these armors. I'm thinking that in the beginning of the game you choose a class like "Vampire", "Lycan", "Scientist", "Goblin", "Zombie", "Norms (Humans)" or "Ghost". And later on you could choose from "Daywalker", "Revenant", "Madman" and others after purchasing them.

That could be the last quest: After defeating me (LOL), you would break open the jar with the spirits of Halloween, Jason, Michael Myers, Leatherface, and Freddy Kruger. Then, you fight them and escape the virtual world of mine.

Sounds epic.
