I'm excited because I've finally got an idea for what to carve this year that matches my theme: Mad Science/Jekyll & Hyde-- I'm going to carve lab rats in cages. It should be a nice addition... I just have to come up with a design and we're green for go. Woo!

Anyway, does anyone else have plans for what you'll be carving this year?

I am going to (attempt) one of those intricate swirly, lace-type ones that Martha Stewart (or her hoard of minions!) are so fond of.

Of course there will also be one classic, one lantern style and a free-form.

Well, I like the original JOL a lot! But I can carve almost anything, so I am thinking about carving skull JOL, perhaps? Or, spider and web JOL? I really can't tell until it gets closer to Halloween - but I believe I will start to carve pumpkins on the 25th of this month! :D

A friend of mine, who is a tattoo artist, drew up an image for all of us to place on our pumpkins. Since I'm a Bass player, he drew me a picture of a pumpkin with a Bass guitar going through it's head. It doesn't sound like much, but he's a phenomenal tattoo artist. He's the only artist I've ever gotten "Inked" by. Once I carve the image on to a pumpkin and put a sparkling light in it, it'll look really cool.

I don't mean to be a 'party pooper,' but I'm stickint with traditonal Jack O'Lanterns with triangular faces, except I might get a little more creaive with one of my pumpkins. I usualy carve 3, plus the ones that I carve early in the months. The ones I carve early in the month, however, usualy don't last until Halloween. So I end up throwing them out. But I'll have two traditional and one creative.
