Holy <deleted>! Have any of you seen this site???

http://www.zombiepumpkins.com/

It's got some of the most awesome pumpkin carving stencils. You have to join to be able to download them but you can join for only $2...then you get to see a freaking ton of neat patterns that you can print!!

This changes the plan for my pumpkin carving for Halloween...woo hoo.

Mel
ps yes, I am very excited.

I've never carved anything besides the reg. mouth, triangle eyes cut (all the way) through...I will definately have to try something like this, this year.
Thanks.

Zombie Pumpkins is one of the best sites on the net for pumpkin carving. I've been a ZP carver for 4 years now and the reactions I get from the pumpkins is well worth the small donation needed to join the site.

I always recommend http://www.zombiepumpkins.com to everyone!

They have Zombie Pumpkins and a whole list of other carving related sites in the Live Journal community I've been reading for a couple years now:
http://community.livejournal.com/pumpkincarving/

... of course, the community also has people who LOVE to carve pumpkins too. =)

Thankss! I'd love to say that I'm an artist but I'm not. Those patterns are rather simple (no scrape away bits and the pieces aren't too small.) After you transfer the pattern, it's pretty much connect the dots :D

Magicbean - Thanks! It does take some time and patience. It's also very addicting. You just start with one little one. You know, what could it hurt.

Before you know you have your own patch, you hit up friends to grow some 'kins for you and you still buy more when they start appearing in local stores. I'd say don't start but additction also loves company :D

BTW, the scariest thing on this site is your days to Halloween ticker!

Wow. I may not have found this talk until mid-2008, but the work is amazing. I will definately try to make one of those this Halloween.

Hey, anyone wanna help me? I always make some lines of the pumpkin too thin and I have to ckop up pieces of toothpick and stick them together with that. :( Got any advice to keep that from happening that doesn't include a pumpkin carving kit?
(tried it, it was cheaply made and didn't last through much.)

You can make the openings (cut out pieces) pretty thin, instead of the part of the pumpkin between the openings.

When lit up at night the cuts look larger than they actually are.
