iHaunt, I hope you won't be offended if I offer yet another piece of un solicited advice, but if you are making a good hourly wage at the cemetery, you should probably consider keeping that job. I know working at a haunted attraction could be fun, and I know that I would love to work at one some time, but from what I understand, they are only opened seasonaly, so any employment they would have to offer would be temprorary, and they usualy only pay minimum wage. I think you should stick with your cemetery job, and maybe do the haunted attraction on th side, as long as it doesn't interfere with your 'bread and butter' job.

I dont' mean to be a 'nosey Josey,' but jobs are very few and far between in today's ecconomy and if you have a good paying job, that's something that you may want to hang on to for dear life.

Mike, I do love cemetery job, but I'm addicted to the haunted attraction.... which one is good? I know the cemetery is best, and the haunted attraction is very good! I got paid $8.99 an hour at the cemetery, so the haunted attraction will pay me $10.00 an hour.

Because I cannot imagine that most people would think of paying to see a haunted attraction down the street in say, May, unless they were on vacation and looking for stuff to do.

Yes, but not so sure that my grandpa will promise me to give me his house, but we'll see.... my gf and I are still talking about it. Damn, long story that I can't tell here... By the way, yes we do have haunted attraction here in Virginia Beach called "Nightmare Manison" that is open all year round.

iHaunt, if you can get a full time permanent position at the Haunted Mansion at 10.00 per hour, then it would be wortht he change. If you can wing it physicaly, and if you are on the day shift at the haunted attraction, you may also want to consider keeping your night job at the cemetery. Having 2 incomes can come in handy, espcaialy if you are considering your own place. Be careful you don't burn yourself out, though.

Mike, I found out a haunted place "Nightmare Mansion" is not hiring any more b/c they already had enough haunters over there. So well... I am not going to quit the cemetery b/c I got good paid. A guy I know told me that haunted place doesn't pay good, and they only give part-time job. But, I am going to find out later.

There are a few haunted attractions in my area too, and typicaly the pay is bare minimum wage, and very part time hours, like 10 to 15 hours a week. That wouldn't even be enough to gas up my Harley. If you have a good secure position at the cemetery, you should probably stick with it, and if you can get a pt job with that haunted attraction, then go with it.

But I seriously doubt any haunted attraction is going to pay more then minimum wage. It's like working at an amusement park.

That's true, Mike. I guess I have to be the horror movie actor so I can make a lot of money, right? Well, I think I have to go to studio for learning to become the actor. But, I don't have time b/c I want to stay around with my family and friends. I don't like to be away for, like 6 months or a year to act in the movie.

Well, I certainly wish you all the luck in the world, iHaunt. I don't envy any young person in today's world. The ecconomy is horible, the worst I've ever seen it in all 51 years I've been alive. Inflation is killing everyone, gas is still around 4 bucks a gallen, and it's a nightmare trying to find a job for the 9 or more percent who are unemployed right now. One of my best friends has not had any meaningful employment since April of 08. He drives a grocery truck part time during the day, and delivers pizzas at night. That's after working 20 years in a union construction job for 100k plus a year. He's trying to put his daughter through college, and there's a very real possibility that this 45 year old friend of mine may have to move back in with his parents. So far he's holding his own, but the future is just too uncertain.

Mike, I used to work at some family-owned pizzeria shop. Also, deliver foods. I got good pay, it wasn't bad. When I heard Naval Base was offering good pay job at the commissionary so I left the pizzeria job, but later on that job at the commissionary cut down to part-time. Then I got pissed off and quitted! Right now, I'm very happy with my cemetery job.

Well, if the job makes you happy, that's half the battle. I allways loved being a photographer and taking photos. I even do it in my spare time, so I lucked out in that respect. I wish it paid a little more, but then my business should start picking up, and that should bring in a few more bucks.

If you remain at that cemetery long enough, you might get better pay and advancement in the long run. That cemetery job sounds like it's allways going to be needed. How else will they keep out the after sun-down 'riff raff?' At any rate, I wish you all the best luck in the world.
