That incorrect because Dodge only made a Viper from 1992-2010. They will make it again for 2012, but no 2011 models ever exist.

Also top speed of the fastest Viper was 2008 model year at 202 MPH. You number 1 cousin lied to you. :(

He probably bought a 2010 in 2011. My car is a 2010 Escape, but I bought it new in Feb. of 2011. To me it is still a new car, although it is now two model years old.

I would love to own a Dodge Viper, but I don't have 60 plus thousand dollars laying around the house. In fact, I wouldn't mind owning a Dodge Charger or Challenger. I still love my Mercury, though. So far, it's the nicest car I ever owned. It isn't the fastest. That clasification goes to my 74 Pontiac Lemanse, but the Merc is by far the most luxerious, has the best sounding stereo system I ever had in a vehicle, including the three 'after market' stereos I had in various vehicles, and is very comfortable riding. It may not be able to do over 200 like the Dodge Viper, but it's fast enough, and while it's 4 cylender engine may not be as glamerous as the 12 cylendar which comes standard in a car like the Astin Martin or the Rolls Royce, it gets fabulous gas milage for the size of the car that it powers.

When I want to cruise "cool," I ride my Harley. But that Mercury Milan I'm driving now, will ocupy a special place in my heart, just like that 58 Mercury Comuter Wagon my father brought me home from the Hospital the day I was born, and that 1970 Monterey that I was hoping would end up being my car when I turned 16.

Funny I did own a 2001 Mercury Cougar for 3 years I bought it on September 11, 2001 as the building in NYC was getting bombed. I like the car OK but too small and the 2.5 V6 with 170 hp was too slow for me. I trade it in to get Infiniti car which way faster and better.

I remember you telling me all about that, Spooky. I had a simular experience with my Toyota Pick Up truck and my Jeep Wrangler. Being jerked around by the dealorship where I spend thousands of dollars really did not do too much for my confidence in that company.

Chang, I heard a lot of people say that about the 01 Couger, but everyone who owned the Mountaieer and verious other models really loved them. I really love my Milan, but those fabulous Mercs of yester year were really to die for. Both the Comuter Wagon and the Monterey had the Maureder V8 Engine. The Comuter wagon was a bit sluggish off the line, because it was, after all, a station wagon and as big as a boat, but it had a top end speed of over 120 mph. The monterey could easily do 140, and was faster off the line than just about every other car in it's class. If you wanted to beat a 70 Merc Monterey or Couger in a drag race, you better be driving a Corvette or a Trans Am.

That 5.0 L engine was a great engine, but not Ford's best work IMHO. The 1980s were also more or less a lost era for American made passenger cars, as some of the newer technologies that are common place today were in their infancy then, and a lot of bugs had to be ironed out. Also, the inovation of unibody construction was very new to American car makers during the 80s, so a lot of mistakes were made. A friend of mine had one of the very first Ford Escourts, and just from normal commuting to work every day, that car got pushed out of alighnment, so it was actualy going down the road cock-eyed. It also pulled very hard to the left, making it a nightmare to drive. That Crysler "K" car was also a real &%$# box. The engine and drive trane was rightious enough, but the body wasn't worth the powder to blow it up. Both of my brothers had Plymouth Volaries. Engines in both cars ran great, both transmissions went for over 80 thousend miles. Both bodies completely rusted out, however, leaving gaping holes in the floors of both cars, and again, the unibodies of both cars were bent up to the point that they were almost un driveable.

I pretty much stuck with older cars, and then pick up trucks through out the 80s, and I got to prefer them over passenger cars, so I drove a full sized pick-up until the Fall of 05. The very best engine I ever had in any vehicle for good old fashioned dependability and a good 'work horse' was that in line 6 cylender that came in my 1991 Ford F-150. ?That truck was only a 2 wheel drive, but I drove it for 0ver 90 thousand miles before I traded it for a 1998 F 150 4 wheel drive. That truck had a highly improved version of the 5l L V 8, but in terms of torque and jusy plain hauling power, it was no match for the I 6. It was a great 4 wheeler, though.

My husband bought an F-150 last December, a King Ranch. It has more room in the cabin than my Escape does. (It seats our three kids, ages 14-22, comfortably in the back seat.) It really feels like a luxury vehicle. The mileage isn't good, but my hybrid sort of balances it out that way. Otherwise, we love that truck.
