In the first place, I don't think it would ever be possible, because of all the tiny nerves in the spinal chord that would have to be reattached. That, alone, would make it virtualy impossible, IMO. In the second place, there's no way I would ever risk it.

I don't know, Mike, I see plenty of people here every day whose heads don't seem to be attached.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

My father allways told me that I would forget my head if it wasn't tied to my shoulders. My mother allways told me that my head isn't screwed on quite right.

Re: News of the Weird
The article did say they had moderate success severing and reattaching the spinal cord of a mouse. If ethics doesn't get in the way I could definitely see them doing head transplants in the future. Heck, they're doing face transplants now. Some day they'll be looking back at modern surgical techniques the way we look back at leeches and blood letting.

If they could actualy do a head transplant, that could be a God-send for people who are quatropolegic. It sounds great, but I don't think ethics should ever be left out of the equasion. Medical technology allways has the potential for horrible abuse. That's why I am so dead set against cloning human life, or experimenting with the human genome. If such a technology ever got into the wrong hands, the results could be disasterous.
