When I was a child, I had a friend whose family had moved South from Chicago. Of course they wouldn't touch grits. But then when I spent the night at her house, her mom offered me corn meal mush for breakfast. She said it was something everybody up North ate. Well, I was a polite child, so I ate it. But, oh my! Yankees have zero reason to complain about our grits.

just hammered down 2 steak egg and cheese biscuits from the service station above my house
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Right now I'm eating chips and salsa but I'd rather be eating the little guy
below, though with such awesome coloring I just don't think I could do it.

Interesting how his two-tones are separated so cleanly, in one straight line.

If they could breed them to taste like butter and garlic right out of the shell that would be even better than 2-toned.

I'm having spaghetti with garlic bread.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Burnt popcorn. Yuk! Never trust the popcorn button on the microwave. As soon as I'm done with that I'm gonna pop the top on a Shipyard Pumpkinhead beer. Yum!!!!

Homemade Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream! As well as being on this great forum and listening to this trailer:

I just can't wait until next Halloween,
'Cause I've got some new ideas
that will really make them scream!
And, by God, I'm really gonna give it all my might!

Not eating, drinking.

One of my favorite local breweries recently opened up a tasting room in North Park, so I went to fill my growler. They still had some pumpkin beer available so that was my choix du jour. This stuff makes Shipyard Pumpkinhead taste like water! It's like a guinness with a cinnamony(sp?) pumpkin flavoring. Puts to mind a pumpkin pie flavored beer ice cream. The cicerone told me they have put a keg of this beer (Magna Acurbita, if you find yourself in San Diego) aside for Thanksgiving, otherwise not available again till next hallowseason. Really wish I would have gone there before Halloween. I'm guessing about 14% alcohol? I'm feelin' good!
