Re: Your job?
I hear ya. Employers have always wanted people to have experience. But in the past there were so many jobs available and it was an employee's market. Meaning, that when all the experienced people found jobs, those that still needed workers had to take on some applicants that didn't have the experience.
Also, companies have really consolidated positions. In the past, they might have had three people doing a certain set of tasks, now they have cut it down to two or even sometimes one person doing the same tasks.
If I have to back to retail, I am really going to struggle. I have aspergers'. So I often have trouble sleeping, which means I have to try to keep to a schedule. I used to get up just after 5:00 am for work. Even though I have not been working the last 18 months, I still get up around 6:00 am. All this means, my health would really suffer if my schedule isn't consistent. And don't even get me started on dealing with customers daily.

Re: Your job?
Nursing is one of those jobs that never seem to be scarce to find. That's because nurses are scarce anyway.
But I don't think I could stomach it. That's why I went for Medical Administrative Assistant. They're still an important part of the medical team because they help with filing, billing, coding, and other tasks. They just don't do any of the hands on stuff, like blood work, blood pressure, taking temperatures or other things. I tried being a CNA once and I just couldn't handle the pressure of being responsible for the lives of senior citizens who could fall if I make just one little slip up, or for other things they had to do. I was good at the terminology though, which is why I went for a less hands on, more secretarial/receptionist aspect of the medical field.
My strengths are in data entry, computers, typing and such. I'm not so great with hands on stuff. It doesn't help that my people/social skills aren't that great either. Just going to work is a struggle with my anxiety. x.x But I do it anyway because I know I need the money. I feel like I"m doomed to work at dead end jobs until the day I die.

I'm as about as rough around the edges as one can get when it comes to social skills. I can function in my capacity as a photographer, but I could never be a doctor or a nurse. It would drive me up a wall, and as much as they get paid, the grief they have to deal with can often make the job seemingly thankless.

My problem was being super good looking rather than super rich.

Well I suppose you would get tense if you ate paste. Not being able to go to the bathroom would make me tense...
