Hocus Pocus sequel?

Even if it's not very good I'll take it.
"The sequel will pick up years after the original, focusing on a housewife who is related to the Sanderson sisters, who teams up with a witch hunter to save her children after they run afoul of some resurrected witches while out trick-or-treating."

Hmmm. Sequels are usually disappointing, but I can understand why someone would want to do a follow-up on this one. I think the original movie didn't kill at the box office, but it has become a true classic on DVD. You can find it anywhere, at any time of year, and at a slightly higher price than some of the more recent movies, too.

Bette Midler says she and the girls are up for a sequel, someone just has to talk Disney into doing it. Spread the word to any other Halloween boards and sites you visit. Time to write to Mickey Mouse and tell him to get on the ball!!!!

For those of you who don't Reddit, Kathy Najimy's response...
"I have read Bette's quote and I agree. The outpouring of love from Hocus-ites has been astounding. The creativity of their Sanderson sisters costumes, posters, artwork, T-shirts, statues, TV stills, photos, compliments and line quotes have blown up social media and I want them to know.. We see and appreciate it all. When a film is being shot, you never quite know the impact.. If it'll be a hit or a miss, and..with this one...we hear y'all loud and clear! A sequel is totally in The Disney company's hands-- And it will be exciting to see what transpires!"
Sarah Jessica responded via Twitter... "Yep. I'm In."

Somebody's got a case of the boo-humbugs. Would you settle for a new wolfman movie?

Re: Hocus Pocus sequel?
IDK. I love Hocus Pocus, but I wonder if a sequel wouldn't be a disappointment, as they so often are? And the Sanderson sisters were destroyed in that one, so how would they go about bringing them back?
What I really wish is that Disney would license the costumes and stuff from that movie so people could wear them for Halloween. I'm not at all sure why that hasn't happened, except that I --think-- maybe the movie wasn't such a huge hit when it first came out. I know my kids were little (daughter not even born yet), and we didn't see it at the theater. We fell in love with it through video. I think that's how its popularity has built. I notice you can buy it on DVD any time of year, and it is a little more expensive than other older movies on DVD. So it is selling well year-round.
