My late brother dressed up as a pirate on the first Halloween after he had to have his lower leg amputated due to diabetes. A friend of his actually made him an old fashioned wooden 'peg let,' and he even let his beard and mustache grow out. It looked pretty cool. Not bad for a guy who's favorite holiday is Christmas, but then that's what I loved about him so much. He handled everything, even catastrophic situations like losing a leg, with humor. He was especially a hoot around Halloween, but his day, without a doubt, was Christmas.

He really was a great guy. To know him truly was to love him especially as the Christmas season approaches.

I am having a Halloween party this year with a cast on my leg this should be interesting! I have 28 people coming over, the most I have had in awhile. I think everyone is ready to do something. Wish me luck! :shock:

Sorry to hear you're in a leg cast, Witchy, but have fun anyway!

We're helping to put on Trunk or Treat at church. That starts with a fall festival, lots of food, etc.

28 people?? That could be a problem at my house, especially with limited parking. At any rate, I hope your leg gets better.

We had 36 people that showed up at the party and it was a huge success!

I get my cast off in 1 1/2 weeks, I'm counting them down and hoping I don't need surgery!

My party went okay, too. Weather did stop a few from getting here. We still watched horror movies and played music. It was fun.

Well, next year is going to be better. 1. Halloween will be on a Saturday. 2. It will be a full moon, and 3. We set the clocks back that very night, SO that will give us all an EXTRA HOUR to enjoy our favorite night of the year.
