When we would have our big family fireworks shows, after it was all over, we would put all the 'spent' fireworks in a pile and burn them. That, in and of itself, made for an interesting 'show' of a different, all be it, more dangerous kind. One year we decided to put everything in this huge metal can and burn them. We did that for 'safety' reasons. Little did we know that there was an unexploded ariel bomb that was thrown in. We lit the fire and got away in case of stray pops, sizzles or what ever. Then that ariel bomb went off, and blew that metal can into SHRAPNEL. That was the last time we used any kind of a container to burn our 'spent' fireworks.
We were all very happy and lucky that nobody was injured in that.
