Someting I can carry with me every day.
It was on a shelf of miscellaneous doo-dads in a second hand store today.

All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Re: Let's show our new stuff!!!
If you're going to shop for holiday decorations, the off season is the best time. A lot of stores are clearing out Halloween merch after the 31st of October.
I always shop for Halloween decorations in Spring, Christmas decorations in June and July, and so on.

Back when I was building my collections, I used to shop on Nov 1 and Dec 26. Now I have so much that it takes something really special to get me to buy. I do like that cameo, Andy.

Re: Let's show our new stuff!!!
I blew so much money on records and a new turn table this year, I haven't really done a lot of Halloween decoration purchasing this year.
My father must be rolling over in his grave, or would be if he knew hos much I spend on my stereo system and records. I'm surprised he hasn't come back to haunt me. ( narf narf )

Well, most people have a hobby or two they are willing to spend their money on. Sometimes if others don't share that particular enthusiasm, they think it's foolish. But records and such are sufficiently popular that they probably have value to many others besides you.

Re: Let's show our new stuff!!!
Thanks, Murf. Some of my records are considered to be collectors items. Vinyl is making a huge come-back now a days.
At any rate, I do very much love my music and I've always enjoyed and appreciated a fine piece of stereo gear. I also like a good quality camera as I am a retired photographer.

Vinyl surely has made a come back! I never thought I'd see that.

Re: Let's show our new stuff!!!
I didn't think that would happen either, Murf. In fact, I had a very pessimistic out look for stereo gear in general as the digital seemed to be taking over everywhere, but thanks to the Internet ( I know, that's a digital tech) I found out about vinyl's resurgence, and I've built up a nice collection since everything I had got destroyed in that fire 6 years ago.
CDs are also making a bit of a come back, and believe it or not, there's actually home for reel to reel tape recorders. Right now they're prohibitively expensive, but perhaps as time goes on, it won't stay that way. I really miss the two I had.

I had a reel to reel years ago.
I don't listen to music as much as I once did, but enthusiasts say the sound is more life like on vinyl.

Re: Let's show our new stuff!!!
Nothing beats vinyl for those spherical sign waves. Reel to reel, however is what was used by record producers to cut albums back in 'the day.' That's why the 'mix tapes' I made on my reel to reel sounded so great. But behind every great vinyl lp is a reel to reel master tape. In fact, a lot of the CDs that came out in the 80s and 90s were also labeled as ADD, which means that the original studio recordings were done on analogue reel to reel tape decks, then were digitally edited then digitally mastered for CD. A lot of music that was re released to vinyl that came out in the late 80s through the 90s and through the last 21 years, had to be re mastered on analogue tape so they could be lacquered to vinyl.
At any rate, I love vinyl, and I miss reel to reel, and do plan to have reel to reel back in my stereo system as soon as I can afford it.

Re: Let's show our new stuff!!!
I can ramble on about audio all day and all night long. I didn't mean to get carried away, so I'll bring us back to our regularly scheduled Halloween decoration discussion.
My younger sister is planning to move to Indiana in about a year or so, and she has a whole slew of fabulous Halloween yard decorations that she said I could have, being that where she's moving doesn't allow for outdoor displays.
At any rate, I hope to have something fun up for Next Halloween.

Oh, my, I bet she's moving into a fancy neighborhood with an HOA. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with a condo board.

Re: Let's show our new stuff!!!
I wouldn't want to deal with a Condo Association either, but the good news is that they take care of all the lawn mowing, gardening, snow removal and all other maintenance. That could be advantageous for older people, but if I moved into one of those places, they would beat me with 10,000 shileighleighs. Yes, I do like to play some of my records loudly.
At any rate, I am really hopeful for a halfway decent yard haunt this year.
