WALSPURGISNACHT 2023!

Post by Andybev01 » Tue Apr 25, 2023 3:49 am

Here we are again.

This Sunday, April 30th, is Walspurgisnacht, halfway to Halloween.

Take care and have a scare.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Hope y'all had a happy Walpurgisnacht. My kids pulled out Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, also several Scooby Doo movies, to celebrate. A friend had invited me to a community theater production of The Sound of Music. I guess Nazis count as scary, too.

Sounds like a good evening out. I find that if I skip the songs on DVD it's a much more streamlined story. Of course you can't ask stage performers to do that...

Lol. I'm a singer, so I like the songs. The stage play is somewhat different from the movie. Songs are in a different order, and there are some in the play that didn't make it into the film.

What the film has going for it is Salzburg. The town is a character in the movie, and you really miss that in the stage production.
