Happy First Day of Autumn, I hope you all have a blessed Fall Equinox!
I'll probably be getting more Halloween decorations out here and there.
But first I'm starting out this blessed fall Sunday with a pumpkin spice Latte via my Keurig and some pumpkin creamer, foam and coffee. (Also featuring my sole surviving pie pumpkin in the photo. I added to give a nice fall charm and aesthetic for the picture. )
Charming! I was at church this morning, but my afternoon has been more laid back.
We've been tearing through several boxes of K-cup Swiss Miss, both Pumpkin Spice and Salted Caramel. They're both good, but we think the Salted Caramel is a wee bit better. Sometimes we adorn them with ghostly Peeps, or DotD Peeps skulls.
I doubt we'll get much fall color this year. With the exception of the rainy Helene weekend, it's been exceptionally dry, and the trees are mostly just giving up.
Well, many of the trees haven't even turned, so maybe we'll see more than I anticipate. We're just now getting the cooler nights that help to trigger them. So perhaps I shouldn't give up too soon. I have seen pretty fall color as late as mid-November. Usually, though, October is the big month, and not much is happening yet.
People are decorating nevertheless. Pumpkins and mums on every doorstep. And of course the yard haunts are popping up. I'm a little late with mine. I started stringing lights yesterday and discovered that several strings that worked fine last year are duds this year. Planning a trip to Walmart soon.
Oh, that's so annoying. And lights can be expensive! Fortunately I didn't have to purchase more than three strings yesterday. I still have much to do in the yard, but my house is beginning to look like Halloween.
