Favourite TV Programme

Post by Laydie Witch » Sat Sep 22, 2007 8:30 am

Greetings

Which halloweenish TV programme thrilled you the most?

I'd say mine were Addams Family, Munsters and of course Bewitched.

TV Series ...

Post by Uncle POE » Sat Sep 22, 2007 3:25 pm

... several series come to mind.

Kolchak: The Night Stalker --- Only 20 episodes, but what other show, episode after episode, was so Halloween oriented. My favorite episode: Zombie

The only series that trumps Kolchak in its Halloween orientation is of course Dark Shadows, but with over a thousand episodes ... well, the best way to savor this classic is to watch the feature film version , "The House of Dark Shadows", which pretty much does the meat and potatoes of the series run. An alternative could also be the 1991 NBC version of the series, starring Ben Cross as Barnabas (15 episodes).

Buffy the Vampire Slayer --- not much need to say about this show. Favorite episode: Hush

Naturally, any episode of The Munsters, if not watching them all during October. But my personal favorite episode: Zombo

Same is true for The Addams Family. Favorite episode: Lurch, the Teenage Idol.

It might be cheating to consider this a TV series, but I remember it as part of the Wonderful World of Disney --- the three-part Dr. Syn alias the Scarecrow. It just feels 'Halloweeny'.

A new entry into Halloween TV series episodes is fron the currently running Doctor Who (Series 3) on SciFi; an episode that was broadcast recently is settling in as one of my all-time favorites: Blink

And if you want to make the effort for a nice treat, get your hands on the series "Miracles" (complete series), and its first episode --- one of the best hours of TV I've seen.

Then there is Halloween treats on the kids' front ...

The Groovy Goolies and 1975's original The Ghost Busters (Spencer, Tracy and Kong version).

But tops here is something I purchased via Amazon.ca (Canada) --- 13 hours of the wonderfullly corny, Vincent Price infused "The Hilarious House of Frightenstein"

There must have been some good programmes back in the 70s. Sadly, I was born in the 80s and missed a bunch of delightful programmes.

I had no idea Ghost Busters started off as a programme. wow. learn something new everyday.

No contest. The Munsters!
Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.
