Thanks!
Not sure how I feel about this one, but I wanted to write another ode to a classic horror film.

It’s dark in my heart
It’s cold in my chest and arms
I want to feel you
And place you in harm’s way

I can’t live and I don’t breathe
I never laugh and there’s nowhere
That’s going to be safe for you
I’ll place you in harm’s way

October chill but I can’t feel
Sweet smell of pumpkin rind
It smells just like you
I’ll place you in harm’s way

White as chalk
Like a clown in death
My face is hidden from view
I’ll place you in harm’s way

Run so fast
So far away
I want to chase you
And place you in harm’s way

I’ll thrust in
Slide my blade
So deep inside you
I’ll place you in harm’s way

When you pull my mask
So deathly pale over my head
I’ll wish I could feel you
I’ll place you in harm’s way

Leaves blowing in the breeze
I pull my coat closer over my heart
But it cuts right through
And tears me apart

Lovers walk by
Walking hand in hand
Jack-o-lanterns shine
And here alone I stand

Kids dressed in rags
And hand-me-down clothes
Candy wrappers fly
A joy I used to know

When the hour turns
And the witches cast their final spell
Will my fortune change?
It’s too hard to tell

I decide to go away
I’m the odd man in this scene
Magic fills the air
But none for me this Halloween

Okay, I'll stop now. Sorry.

Keep me in your prayers
In your thoughts hold me true
I’m going out tonight
I’ll need help from you

They’re going to be out there
I feel them coming near
Behind my brave face
There’s a growing fear

MHooch is stalking
The Haunted Horseman too
And somewhere in the darkness
Waits Spookyboo

One Eye’d Jack’s on a rampage
Magickbean can’t be stopped
Uncle Tor’s loose from his cage
Where he can’t be watched

Catzilla hunts like a panther
There’s the evil of Jadewik
Hauntmaster’s attack
Is coming up quick

And Laurie Strode laughs
As she sharpens her blade
She won’t stop until she draws blood
No deal can be made

Tomanderson is waiting
For me to try and escape
In the shadows I feel
The eyes of Nostalgiascape

The Dutchess of Darkness
Has a wicked plan
In the distance I hear crying
“I B Howlin Wolfman!”

Geekmidwinter
Has killed before
Perhaps I should reconsider
Walking out that door

I love Scooby doo lol....and " Is it the devil or the girl Making love to me?".....Is it getting hot in here? I love your poems they keep evolving and might I say getting darker :D
Its getting harder and harder to come up with something to follow you Dr. Strange
......."puts my thinking cap on"
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

Wow, Doc Strange has immortalized us all in one of his poems. That's pretty cool. :D :D
Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.

I’ve never liked my face
I’ve never liked my clothes
I’ve never liked the I walk
My frustration grows
Maybe, that’s why
I like Halloween

I’ve never liked the way I talk
Or the way I often feel
I’ve never liked the way this darkness
Takes my hands off the wheel
Maybe, that’s why
I like Halloween

I don’t like being in the crowd
I don’t believe their lies
I don’t like my reflection
In other people’s eyes
Maybe, that’s why
I like Halloween

Sometimes I need to run away
Sometimes I need to hide
Sometimes I need shelter
From the demons inside
Maybe, that’s why
I need Halloween

I’ve never liked the thought of death
Or how he’ll catch me one day
Why can’t this mask hide my face?
And keep the hounds at bay
Maybe, that’s why
I need Halloween

I don’t like what I’m thinking
My thoughts are a blur
I don’t like the way
I keep staring at her
Maybe, that’s why
I hide on Halloween

Son of a batch I don't know what the heck as gotten into me today but I keep running on at the mouth. I'll cool it now, before I start annoying people. There's some kind of strangeness running around here.

Thanks for the kind words HH.

March of the Skeletons
By Haunted Horseman

The graveyard was silent, not a mortal in sight,
A fitting place to be on Halloween night;

The night wind blew the leaves and howled with glee,
Through the tombstones, crosses, mausoleums and trees;

The clock struck twelve and with one thunderous shot,
The clouds parted ways and moonlight hit the spot;

Black crows and bats filled the sky in flight,
As a great owl watched on from a tree of great height;

It was precisely this moment they woke from their rest,
To jump about, sing, march, dance and jest;

They rose from the earth without malice intent,
They'd visit the living for only an evening's stent;

Their bones rattled, dangled, wiggled and popped,
The ghastly show they put on could never be topped;

If you could see them perform, what a review you would write,
The march of the skeletons, what a marvelous fright!
Because once you cross that bridge, my friend, the ghost is through, his power ends.

Another great poem HH....the competition is "wipes sweat from brow" considerable to say the least.

It started one night just before bed
I started hearing the voices of the recently dead

The wailed and they cried at their ghastly plight
and kept me awake near most of the night

Next morning I thought my gift had past
I had hoped that it was one night and would not last

But to my horror it had gotten worse
for I began seeing ghostly visions of a hearse

Then all manner of spooks became perfectly clear
all them trying to whisper into my ear

I couldnt escape them they were all around
whenever I hide I would always be found

I eventually gave up and listened to what they said
and to my horror they told me I was also dead
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

You guys are too kind  Thanks. Spookyboo, I like your latest a lot, I got chills at the end. Kind of a "Sixth Sense" theme. Way to go. :D

Tremble to my touch
I take your breath with my kiss
I feel your heart beating
its ecstacy and bliss

I press against you tightly
I cannot let you go
my icy grip assalts you
my passions do then grow

you sigh and you gasp as
fully united we have become as one
its music is intoxicating
but now were nearly done

I will know you only this once
as you become my sweet sleeper
I then take you away
for I am the Grim Reaper
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement
