Novemeber came and it was sad for Halloween had gone
December next and Christmas was here to help me carry on
January grew so cold but my memories did persist
February colder still but I had pictures and my list
March blew in my memories started to go dim
april hopped with bunnys and no black and orange trim
May brings spring just the thing to start my plans anew
June flew in and summer was in but I had better things to do
July began my countdown 3 months left to go
August drug on heatedly only heightened my sense of woe
September came oh at last its fall tidings could be seen
October oh that beautiful month at last its Halloween
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

I read that with the song "Calender Girl" playing in my mind.

Good stuff Spookyboo, I like how your work is branching out and touching on themes that aren't obvious.

Dew settles on the pumpkin patch
Kids in masks try to catch
All the magic their bags will hold
Then I feel you near me

Your dress clings tight to your hips
My heart pumps fast at the sight of this
Fingers intertwined as I pull you near
Can you feel me?

Halloween is all pumpkin shells
Skeletons dance to witch’s spells
People try to laugh at death
And scares make you catch your breath

And here I stand thinking of you

My house is haunted with paper ghosts
They whisper at night all the secrets they know
They say my fortune is clear as shiny glass
It’s in your eyes

A black candle lit on the mantle place
Shines in a pumpkin with a playful face
Grinning because he sees me with you
Lost in your eyes

Halloween can mask your fear
As we face the death of another year
Candy corn skulls sweeten the taste
Of the mortality we all face

And here I am thinking of you

Hours die one after next
October soon slips into its yearly rest
The streets are exorcised of all the fright
But our night does not end

A cool breeze on a smoky wick
The night soon plays one last trick
Darkness makes you feel all alone
But I’m here my friend

Halloween is a children’s game
Giving death a friendly name
Nightmares are songs of your heart’s fear
My arms are strong let them pull you near

Here I am holding you

If I wear this cape am I superman?
Can I fly instead of stand?
Will the clouds get caught in my eyes, at the top of the world?

If I wear this bright, red “S”
Bold and true upon my chest
Once the bullets rain down will they fall away, and can I save the girl?

I may not be a superman
Bend steel in my bare hands
I may not fly like a bird or plane
Or be mightier than a train

But you make me feel that way

Oh Dr. Strange there were so many stanza's that I loved in that large poem you left
It actually changed my mood....it made me feel a pure feeling of Halloween and also a bit of melancholy and yet a comfort...I liked that one... and ....how can I not like an ode to Superman!!!
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

Can you believe I haven't been in a Halloween mood for about two weeks?

I'm a sham.

I once found a dead boy named earl
who used to eat lotsa squirrel
He lay on the ground
with flys all around
So I started dating his girl
The dark night beckons. Bear us your soul, it whispers. Expose your wicked delights. Join the rest of us on the wind. The dark night beckons and we answer. Sailing into the shadows.

The sad sweet chill wind
howled its regret
for my heart had
been hardened
totally upset

No longer would the
pumpkin lights all glow
for the one I that I love
is now down below

I lay upon their grave
cursing the sound
of the Halloween
festivities I heard
all around

How wicked is fate
I sobed till dry
that Halloween
would be the day
you would die

Somewhere inside
this moldy mound of dirt
my life lays with a
pumpkin pinned to
their shirt

I would join you
if only I could this night
I would climb my way in
and hold on to you tight

The hours of darkness
concealed my deed
a bottle lay empty
my soul had been freed

Again we could walk
on all hallows eve
among the tombstones
we lingered not wanting
to leave
