What do you like to decorate with? That bucket of blood?

When do you start decorating ?

Post by kirala05 » Wed Jul 30, 2008 12:08 am

So when does "deck the halls with skulls and ghosties?" I usually start around the last week of September for the inside and a few days later for the outside.
Do you wanna know why i use a knife? Guns are too quick.
You can't savor all the little emotions. And you see
in their last moments people show you who they really are.

why so serious?

I usually start in early August with the heavy decorating. But I have some Halloween stuff up year round.

Hello, I start around August for the inside of the house & Sept for the outside, it takes me forever to get it all out, but I truly love doing it. Happy Hauntings!! Witchy

Well it's the end of July and I've got most of my stuff up already. I guess being on these forums motivated me more this year. So I beat my previous record of early August :)

I'm planning to put mine up early/mid September. I only do the inside because we live out in nowheresville so nobody gets to see the outside anyway. I plan on doing every room of the house this year. Last year I only did the living room and kitchen.

I have had 2 paper mache candy containers and a small Autumn floral urn out since early June but don't want to get too into it or it would ruin my Fall.

I go all out starting on September 1st.

I usually get around to decorating around the 15th of September. Sometimes a bit later than that. You get kind of motivated when your local drug store puts up their Halloween decorations for sale in the middle of August. :P

That's what gets me. As soon as I see the Halloween merch out I want to start decorating, and since two stores I know of put out stuff in July that's when I start. It's an uncontrollable obsession :?

Just reading this post made me think about decorating right now. I think I will put one or two things up (OUTSIDE!) . My parents might think I'm out of my head though. I know you guys decorate inside this early. But even you might think I'm crazy.

You're not crazy, someone in my neighborhood left some of their decorations up all year. :?

I think that, at least for the outdoors, one should not begin decorating at least until September 21st, the fall equinox, or risk upsetting the neighbors. I myself don't like to put up decorations until October 1st and add throughout the month. I think it is more fun to build decorations on a daily basis, constantly giving my neighbors and myself a new surprise every day. I've noticed that some of the children in my neighborhood will make it a point to stop in front of my house everyday to try and discover what grisly item I have added most recently.

No. That was a stupid idea.

I wait until after Labor Day to start decorating inside - DH shakes his head when he sees the Halloween stuff coming in from the garage. October 1st is when I start working on the outside.

The Rite-Aid drug store near home had te Fall aisle loaded this weekend, and everything was 1/2 price!!!

Needless to say I walked out with 4 bags of goodies, but only put out a couple of things. Don't wanna burn out...
