YAY FOR FALL!! Too bad the Bay Area doesn't have those beautiful trees that turn those beautiful shades of red and orange.
I remember when I was younger we used to have this big tree in the front yard and one in the back and my brother and I would spend Saturdays raking leaves only to go back 10 minutes later and find a whole bunch of leaves on the ground again! It was so annoying, but now that we've gotten rid of those trees and I really miss those Saturdays.
I've learned there are three things you don't discuss with people: religion, politics and the Great Pumpkin. - Linus

Northern Cal does have good fall color, just not native.

Around the house there are liquid amber trees and one spectacular red oak.

The photo above is only the start for the ambers...they will go nuts in a month or so.

The red oak is changing right now and will peak just about Halloween time.

My fave time of year as well!!! Changing colors, cooler temps yet still warm enough for just a sweater...

And, of course...HALLOWEEN!!!
A gentle breeze rustling the dry cornstalks.
A sound is heard, a goblin walks.
A harvest moon suffers a black cat's cry.
Oh' do the witches fly!
Bonfire catches a pumpkins gleem.
Rejoice, it's Halloween!
