Re: If we (Halloween.com) could create our OWN perfect town...
I think the town should be hundreds of years old. Like if you go into the graveyard you see thousands of crumbling stones.
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

So lets get this straight:
Evilton: A Luxury in the Life of Sorrow
Nothing is what its seems...
what kind of holidays do we celebrate? being a Halloween town we've come up with holidays of our own.. in example.. maybe a great pumpkin harvest...
what do you guys have in mind?

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I like that, a pumpkin harvest.
How about each full moon there is a town dance in the city square at midnight?

Full Moon would be a bonfire, with a dance, great music and great food.
And I was thinking that every month when the moon is full, we honor a different group of monsters, with the exception of October when we celebrate all monsters.
January, we honor Vampires.
February, it's Wearwolvs.
March, it's Witches
April, it's Space Aliens.
May it's Jason, Freddy amd Michael, and other insane, kept alive by evil, killers
June it's Bats, Spyders and other creepy crawlers.
July, it's Poltergeists, and we give them fireworks to play with (Sorry, but I'm a sucker for fireworks
August, it's Banshees
September it's Gobblins, Ogers and Trolls.
October it's all monsters, and a special month where there's a bonfire in the town square every night.
November, it's evil machines, like "The Car," or "The Mangler
December, it's Ghosts, with a special emphasys on the spirits of Christmas Past, present and future. (Hey, it is a good ghost story, even though it isn't scary)

i like that mike. and since ghosts are one of my favorite that makes december that much better!! what better way to celebrate in the cold than to celebrate the ones who tend to make it cold haha

Well, that's what I was thinking too. That and the fact that there was a tradition in England of telling Ghost stories about Christmas, and "A Christmas Caron" was one of the best.
But let's face it. Our town, while many of us may have Christmas decorations up at that time, does not really lend itself to Christmas.
Or perhaps I should rethink that. I live in a house that's quite suitable to any time of the year. It was a fabulous place to have my St. Patty's Days parties, a loving place for the family at Thanksgiving, a magical place at Christmas, and a spooky place at Halloween. If I had kids, there's no end to all the places the Easter Bunny can hide Easter Eggs, and it's also great for Summer time brbecues, yard parties and 4th of July fireworks.
So my house is not exclusively a Halloween house. Halloween is no doube my favorite, but it's not the only holiday that I love.

Maybe in reality we can do movie marathons with those themes. I'm sure I could compile a list we could use.Pumpkin_Man wrote:

I think the area I live in here in southern Indiana is perfect for Halloween fans. Historic Madison Indiana and the outlying towns have that midwestern atmosphere that is essential for the holiday.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN...

As a fan of weres, I like the idea of wearing a were mask for each full moon of the month. It can be werewolves, werecats, etc. as long as it's some kind of a were.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

sounds good to me... in celebration of the full moon we should all where our unique masks and have the night built around some kind of creep local game..
does anyone have any ideas?

A link to a game's rules that would fit in our little town.

I like that movie marathon idea, too. In reality, we can have a date and time we all watcfh these movies, and in our fantasly time, these films could be playing at our local movie theatre. The Cinehaunt.
