You're 18??? That's strange because I thought that some firefighters are required to enter the job at age 21. But I see that you're from Canada... maybe it's different from US. :)

Here it's 16 for the volunteer departments. which I'm in, and 19 for the career departments. Eventhough I'm 18 I was accepted early so I've been a Firefighter/First Responder for 4 years and a Paramedic for 2 years :D

I see...Ok that's different from US. Some firefighters and paramedics job for their first time to training must be 18 and over, then get a real job at 21. ;)

Anyways, thanks for letting me know. I hope you love your job. :D My grandfather was the retired Captain Firefighter for 38 years.... He retired at age 62 on January 1987. Well, now he's 85 and alive. :)

You ever come down here to the States to fight fires? We sure could use
you here in Cali right now. Thanks for what you do.

I could if I wanted to since I'm certifyed but I'm going to wait 2 years to let an old back injury heal before going out into forest fire fighting. But I totally know what you mean, everywhere where there's a fire, they are starving for more people.

I'm 18 as well. And I agree with NeverMore, they need all the help they can get with this fire. And the heat is unbearable.

Man! I feel sort of creepy talking to you kids, now. I am older than most of you in years but not in heart. I hope you keep your Halloween spirit for years to come!

I have a daughter 18!

I am 38 turning 39 this October. I was born for Halloween!!!

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Okay now I really feel old now, I am 46. But only by birth, my kids say I fit right in with
the 20 to 40 year olds & that I am alot of fun to hang out with. I go to all their dances & some of the parties, some are just too scare even for me.
I will never be to old for Halloween, when I am in my 80's I will still be dressing up & passing out candy, it's my favorite holiday!!!

Actually I'm surprized at the number of responses being in the 20 year range or younger. I thought most of the people here were in their 40s and kind of got used to that idea.
I'm 24 by the way, although I'll hit the big 3-OH in 6 more years. I hope I'm moved out by then, it feels so pathetic living with dad and grandma. -.-;
The atmosphere and community is very mature and down to earth though, and I like that.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
