Favorite Christmas Tv Special or Movie

Post by Pumpkin_Man » Wed Dec 02, 2009 12:42 pm

Hi Folks:

As long as I'm taking surveies of Christmas Entertainment, and started a thread about music, I thought I would also start a thread and a poll about christmas tv shows, movies or stories.

I had to say Charlie Brown, because it is what I grew up with.
But I also love Home Alone, a movie called The Holiday, and A Christmas Carol.

For the record, I voted for "It's a Wonderful Life," but I love all of the above listed almost as much.

For "Other," I would list:

"Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer," "Nester the Long Eard Donkey" "Santa Clause is Coming to Town," "The Year Without a Santa Clause," "The Little Drummer Boy" (yes, there was an animated Christmas special about the little Drummer boy who played his drum for the Baby Jesus) "The Nativity Story," which is the most recent movie based on the Biblical event described. And a whole host of others too numerous to put in one post.

I voted A Christmas Story!! i ALWAYS know christmas is near when the all day specials start showing :)
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Well, I voted for A Christmas Carol, although I am finicky about the particular version. For me it has to be George C. Scott's, though I have seen just about all of them, I think.

I also love Rudolph, Charlie Brown, and A Christmas Story.

Oh, Belladonna, The Holiday!!! Love it love it love it.

Mike, I remember The Little Drummer Boy. Do you remember Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol?

Dickens's Christmas Carol is probably my favorite secular Christmas story, but we also pull out certain religious films around Christmas time, either Ben Hur or Jesus of Nazareth. Come to think of it, those are our favorite Easter films, too!
