Sitings....

Post by TheHallow1 » Sun Aug 22, 2010 7:31 pm

Nothing big...just a few big bags of candy corn and a Halloween-themed cooking/home decor magazine.

When it comes to siting, I like a nice comfy chair. I'd imagine candy corns might be unpleasant to sit on, especially kilted.

I saw a few more Halloween items at Walgreens the other day. Additionaly my local grocery story is already starting to stock Halloween candy.

Yeah, our local Kroger was putting up the Halloween aisle yesterday, shoving the "back-to-school" stuff further back. The season is upon us!

I noticed the other day that the CVS I bought that mini-pumpkin growing kit still has no Halloween stuff out.

I hope that they are just waiting until it gets closer to the holiday, but they usually put it out at the same time that their autumn items go out.

With the economy still being so uncertain, I think some stores are afraid to stock items that might not sell. Halloween is tough to call. No one has to celebrate it, so some people might choose to forego the expense. OTOH, there are lots of people who might want the release of the Halloween holiday. So it could do especially well in a climate like this one.

Last year, stores had hardly anything, and there were almost no houses decorated in my neighborhood. But people seemed to enjoy my over the top display even more because of it! :)

The one street in our neighborhood that goes all out for Halloween outdid itself last year. They must have been one of the main draws for the whole city. So I hope the same thing will happen this year, although I haven't seen anyone start to decorate yet.

I think these stores under estimate the Halloween consumers by under ordering merchandise each year.
