What were they performing at Lincoln Center?

Ah, House on Haunted Hill! A classic.

I'm a big opera fan, go as often as I can wherever I am! My regular opera haunts (pun intended) are Lincoln in NY and Kennedy in DC, but I've also been to performances in Paris, Venice, and Barcelona. I've seen all of the classics--I just love it!

This opera is new, a contemporary story about a female fighter pilot who gets pregnant, becomes a mother and then remote drone pilot, and encounters a moral dilemma. The title is Grounded. It was quite good!

Tonight, I will attend a Halloween costume party at my club in NY--The Explorers Club 8)

For my costume, I will wear a blue astronaut jumpsuit with my wide-brimmed hat and a club bandana as a neckerchief. I will introduce myself as Maurice. Folks will inevitably ask, "What's your costume?" And I will simply reply, "Some people call me a space cowboy, some call me the gangster of love!"

I'd never heard of the Explorers Club. It sounds like an interesting group. Enjoy your party!

Thanks for the link about the opera. I had a phase in my youth where I collected operatic albums, and I have seen grand opera in London many years ago. I also was in opera choruses in local productions (not that I am truly an opera singer, far from it, but I was taking voice lessons at the time). Anyway, it's nice to know you have that enthusiasm.

For real? You're going to spend two weeks in Mongolia? That's an adventure, for sure.

When you said you were costuming as an astronaut named Maurice, I blanked, but this morning I woke up thinking about that tv character from Northern Exposure. Was he your inspiration? Looks like your friend went as Hemingway.

Yes, I will participate in a scientific expedition in the Gobi Desert 8)

The costume was a joke about the Joker song by Steve Miller... Haha

Thanks, you're one of the few who got the joke

He and I are both members of the Explorers Club and both regular contestants in the annual Hemingway lookalike contest in Key West

You should raise the bar one year, and bring a sh0tgun.

If you haven't watched it yet, Witches of Hollywood is a good documentary.

I saw it on Prime.

If you have Dizznee+, they have a short called 'The Scariest Story Ever: a Mickey Mouse Halloween Spooktacular!'.

It has all the earmarks (ha ha) of the 90s, Klasky Csupo studios.

Well, I didn't know the Joker song, but now I'm wondering if that's why the writers named the former astronaut Maurice on Northern Exposure.

I wish I had access to these documentaries you speak of.
