Well, that sucks.

Most of the holidays that we celebrate on this side of the world has been slowly growing in popularity in other countries in recent years because of the internet, it's just unfair that the citizens of some of those countries that want to live a normal life are restricted by their Gov.

Is it true that in CA kids have to ToT in daylight? Is that the whole state, or is it up to the different communities?

It's up to the locals and usually it's mostly in the metropolitan centers.

The farther you go into suburban and rural areas the more 'normal' things are.
