Samhain wrote:This is going to sound goofy, but I purchased several cans of febreeze's autumn spice and pumpkin harvest air fresheners the other day in order to make our house smell "Halloweenish". Spray a little of one and then the other...
That scent will definitely get you in a mood for the season.
Pumpkin spice candles do the trick for me

The air was a bit chilly this morning and there was a nice breeze.
So I took my dog and cup of coffee outside and just enjoyed watching the leaves slowing whirling towards the ground.
I loved it.

Love the imagery in that post *sigh*, it's supposed to be obnoxiously hot this weekend in Nor. Cal. and it makes me want to weep.
Although we did have a niiiiice lightening storm last Saturday morning and then a brief rain shower Sunday evening, so that was nice.

Very warm today, but despite the heat the seasons are most certainly heading towards Autumn.

It still looks like summer outside here, but its definitely a lot cooler, and it gets dark at 8 pm now

the sun sets very early in winter here, and very late in the summer! So the sun not setting at 9:45 pm is definitely a good thing

I stepped outside today and the feeling hit me right away like a punch in the gut. The air was crisp and cool with not an ounce of humidity, and the sky was a light blue with a few wispy clouds. There was a slight breeze and i even noticed that a few leaves' tips are turning a dark amber, and yellowish color. The trees themselves were casting long shadows which were slightly moving with the wind. My neighbor even unknowingly added to the feeling by burning his wood furnace, and the aroma of the air was just fantastic.
I can't wait until everyday brings this wonderful feeling. The days are getting shorter and I can feel Fall pushing out the hot summer days. This is my time.

Hot here in TN too! And the RAIN! I think it has rained the entire month of September!!! I am so sick of rain. It might handle it better if it were cooler, but NO. It is 85 and the humidity is like 200%. We have fog all day!
I am longing for one of those crisp October days with the sky so blue, you are not sure if it has ever been that clear EVER.
The smell of leaves and of that wood stove someone, somewhere has lit to warm their home.
The slight breeze that blows to make the scattered leaves tumble across the grass.
The quiet sound of NO BUGS!!!
Come on October. I miss you!!!
